She jumped into the entertainment industry by earning the title of Miss Corpus Christi, USA in 1998 and then following a talent show audition to Los Angeles. Her first few years in LA led to a series of little known roles in shows such as L.A. In A Day, The Bold and the Beautiful, General Hospital, and Beverly Hills, 90210. Her first big break was the role of Isabella Brana in the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless which she was on from 2001 to 2003.
In 2004 she began her best known role as the sensual character Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives, which ran through 2012. For this role she was nominated for a Golden Globe, won an ALMA award, and was named 2006’s Entertainer of the Year. Some of her post-Housewives roles have been on shows such as Mother Up!, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Telenovela.
Eva Longoria has had stints in many other professions throughout her acting career. She has worked as a producer and director on projects such as Devious Maids and Telenovela. She has also taken up work as a spokesperson for companies such as Bebe Sport, L’Oreal, Hanes, New York & Co., and most recently Sheba Cat Food.
In 2008 along with several other investors she opened a Hollywood restaurant called Beso which had a night club on the second floor. A second restaurant with the same model was opened in Las Vegas in 2009.
